CardRaven Says ‘Nevermore’ to Sending Only e-Cards

First app to allow a real greeting card to be mailed from an iPhone

DENVER, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ — CardRaven, an online greeting card company, has created a new app that allows users to select, design and send paper greeting cards via the U.S. Mail from their iPhone.

“With our new app, we’ve solved the problem of not being able to get to a card store, buy a stamp and place the card in a mailbox,” said Adam Lambert-Gorwyn, owner and founder of CardRaven. “We’re giving people who are tired of resorting to e-cards the opportunity to find and mail high-quality printed cards to friends, family or businesses anywhere in the world from the convenience of their iPhone.”

Lambert-Gorwyn came up with the idea after finding himself too often wishing he could send a real greeting card to someone, but wasn’t near a card store or post office to do so. “There are times when an e-card is just not personal enough, since many people may prefer to receive the warmth of a real card in their mailbox,” said Lambert-Gorwyn.

He explained that CardRaven has created a wide assortment of holiday-themed cards beginning with Valentine’s Day. Users may also choose to use their own photographs taken with the iPhone’s built in camera. All-occasion cards and thank-you cards that offer more personalization aren’t far off.

“Our cards are created with original art that you won’t find at a chain greeting card store,” said Lambert-Gorwyn. “Their quality makes the recipient feel like the sender really took the time to choose the right card.” He added, “We’ve combined the best of the mobile Web with the off-line experience of sending something tangible that shows someone how you really feel about them.”

CardRaven greeting cards sell for $2.99 (US) and that price includes postage to anywhere in the world. The high-quality cards are created using a process that eliminates the envelope, thus reducing the amount of paper sent through the mail. The iPhone app is FREE and can be found at www.cardraven.com and in the iTunes App Store.

AmpleHarvest: Find Your Local Food Pantry

Utilizing proximity based GPS search or address search, this app shows your local food pantries. Clicking on a food pantry provides further detail including hours of operation and contact info. Once you’ve found a pantry, drop off your extra garden produce or canned goods and help feed the needy.

Features an address book style food selector, and touch-based wine style chooser. This robust app matches food and cheeses to their ideal wine companions. There are over 130 wine styles and 1,000 pairings in the current version. Within pairings results, multiple wine choices are shown, and the user is able to filter results to view just white or red wines.
